About Us

Established in April 2020 at Johor Bahru, Malaysia, we started off with only preorders on Instagram (@book.trove). After meeting a high influx of demand we’ve decided a website would be the right pathway to cater to our customers’ needs.

Book Trove carries specially curated pieces for young children. As a mom herself, our founder strongly believes that reading creates lasting bonds memories all the while fostering our child’s development.

We strive to provide must-have pieces from publishing house-to-parents at competitive prices.

So who’s behind Book Trove?

As first time parents ourselves, we were overwhelmed by the amount of books on the market. We were so focused on judging a book by its cover (pun intended) only to be disappointed with its content. We wanted books that could be conversation starters with our daughter. Especially in a society when we get so caught up with life, it’s easy for a child to be left out of the conversation.

Why Choose Book Trove?

Authentic Books

We source our books from reputable distributors so we don’t have to worry about getting counterfeit books. This is important because we don’t know where these counterfeit books are made from and what condition they are made in. Young children tend to put books into their mouth, so this is a concern in Book Trove.

Which is why we only sell authentic books that are printed in factories that have passed certain standards.

Reuse, Reduce, Recycle

In Book Trove, we believe in doing our parts as Earthlings. 

When packaging your parcels, we may reuse boxes so that we can all reduce the burden on the environment. Books will be wrapped in Hexcel wrap, a sustainable bubble wrap alternative that is fully biodegradable and doesn’t require as much tape to secure. 

For books that are more vulnerable, we will be using plastic bubble wraps so the risk of it getting damaged will be minimised. Any bubble wrap that came in your package is reused from our purchases.

If your parcels tend to arrive like it has been through a lot, there is an option that you can choose to have bubble wrap as an extra layer of protection for your parcel. 

Gifting service is also available in Book Trove. Fret not, we’ll use new boxes for the gifts. Just click on the gifting option along with your message in the notes section when you checkout and our elves will take care of the rest for you!

We would encourage customers to reuse the packaging materials, or give them to people who may need them. If you would like to reuse them at home, check out our blog posts to discover the many ways you could use the packaging material for play with your child!

Flat Rate Shipping

We charge a flat rate of RM8 to West Malaysia and RM12 to East Malaysia, regardless of how many books you buy. This is because we’ve had customers who were concerned with the weight of books causing postage to be high.

To better serve our customers, we decided to offset some of the cost for postage to ensure that we can all enjoy these fun and joyful books with our loved one.
